Daniel Choi DPT, PT, OCS, SCS, FAAOMPT

Daniel Choi was born and raised on Southern California with a passion to pursue sports, specifically baseball. After sustaining an injury that prevented him from further participating in baseball, Daniel was motivated to help athletes of all ages to pursue their passions without injuries or setbacks. He earned his Bachelor’s of Arts in Allied Health at Azusa Pacific University in 2018 and completed his Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Azusa Pacific University in 2021. Thereafter, Daniel completed the Kaiser Permanente Orthopedic Residency in 2022-23 and Kaiser Permanente Sports Fellowship in 2023-24 at Orange County to further advance his clinical ability to evaluate and treat his patients. During his sports rehabilitation fellowship, Daniel had the opportunity to learn and work alongside orthopedic surgeons and sports medicine doctors at Kaiser Permanente – Orange to treat the athletic patient population in all age groups.

Daniel has experience working with soccer teams, including Lions United FC and United City FC, and volunteering at sporting events, including Lei-Out Ultimate Frisbee 2024. Daniel serves as the Team Physical Therapist at Santa Ana College assisting the medical staff, including the athletic trainers, during pre and in-season for sports including basketball, football, and volleyball to assist with athlete rehabilitation. Daniel also served as the team physio for the Australian Mixed National Team, the Australia Cassowaries, during their 7-day campaign at the World Masters Ultimate Championships 2024 in Irvine, CA.

To further contribute to the advancement of physical therapy, Daniel also served as an adjunct professor for the Doctorate of Physical Therapy Program at Azusa Pacific University. Daniel also had the opportunity to speak about biomechanics and injury prevention for pitchers to the graduate physical therapy program at Yonsei University, one of Korea’s top universities for physical therapy.

His goal is to help his patients live their lives to the fullest without limitations through rehab and provide proper education to prevent these injuries from occurring in the future. Daniel is passionate about serving his community as he tries to connect with local sports teams and provide resources/workshops about injury prevention for athletes and parents.

When Daniel is not treating patients, he loves to cook, attend concerts/sporting events, and travel around the globe.
